How do you locate a prisoner in Brazil?
Through the SEEU (Unified Electronic Enforcement System), the BNMP (National Prison Monitoring Database) of the CNJ, and the competent enforcement court. A retained lawyer checks the records and confirms the facility and the procedural situation.
Who can request the search?
The family can request information, but access to the full case file belongs to the retained lawyer, who obtains the complete details (case number, facility, regime, deadlines).
Is this enough to request release?
Locating is the first step. With the case file in hand, the lawyer assesses the custody hearing, pre-trial detention and enforcement incidents (regime progression, parole).
